จากภาพถ่ายดาวเทียมนาซ่า เผยให้เห็นภูเขาไฟ Bagana ที่ปาปัวนิวกินี ปะทุขึ้นแล้ว



May 18, 2012 – PAPUA NG – Bagana volcano is one of the most active in Papua New Guinea, but it is remote, and so poorly monitored.

Located on the mountainous spine of Bougainville Island, it is both far from any cities or large towns and is hard to reach due to the rough terrain around it. Satellites are the best way for volcanologists to keep an eye on the active peak, which has an elevation of 5,741 feet (1,750 meters). A new lava flow was spotted on Bagana volcano by a NASA satellite on May 16. A large plume was also seen rising about the summit crater. The volcano emits gases (including water vapor and sulfur dioxide) almost continuously, and frequently spits up thick lava flows. สำนักงานสำรวจธรณีวิทยาแห่งชาติสหรัฐฯ (ยูเอสจีเอส) รายงาน เกิดแผ่นดินไหวใต้ทะเลนอกชายฝั่งของจังหวัดไอเซน ทางตอนใต้ของชิลี วัดความรุนแรงได้ที่ระดับ 6.2 ตามมาตราแมกนิจูด และในเวลาใกล้เคียงกันได้เกิดแผ่นดินไหวระดับ 6.2 ขึ้นอีกทางตอนกลางของประเทศ...

สำนักข่าวต่างประเทศรายงานเมื่อ 19 พ.ค.โดยอ้างสำนักงานสำรวจธรณีวิทยาแห่งชาติสหรัฐฯ (ยูเอสจีเอส) ว่าเกิดแผ่นดินไหวใต้ทะเลนอกชายฝั่งของจังหวัดไอเซน ทางตอนใต้ของชิลี วัดความรุนแรงได้ที่ระดับ 6.2 ตามมาตราแมกนิจูด ข้อมูลของยูเอสจีเอสระบุว่า ศูนย์กลางของแผ่นดินไหวระดับ 6.2 ครั้งนี้ อยู่ลึกลงไปในมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก ห่างจากเมืองปวยร์โต เกญอนของชิลีไปทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ราว 544 กิโลเมตร และอยู่ห่างจากเมืองกัสโตรไปทางตะวันตก 560 กิโลเมตร
เบื้องต้น ยังไม่มีรายงานความเสียหายจากแผ่นดินไหวครั้งนี้แต่อย่างใด ขณะที่อาคารสูงในกรุงซานติอาโก เมืองหลวงของชิลีที่อยู่ห่างออกไปราว 1,479 กิโลเมตร ก็ไม่พบรายงานการสั่นสะเทือนเช่นกัน ขณะเดียวกัน พบการเกิดแผ่นดินไหวอีกจุดหนึ่งทางตอนกลางของชิลี วัดความรุนแรงได้ที่ระดับ 6.2 เช่นเดียวกัน โดยมีศูนย์กลางอยู่ห่างจากกรุงซานติอาโกไปทางเหนือราว 849 กิโลเมตร

เกิดเหตุระเบิดบริเวณด้านหน้าโรงเรียนแห่งหนึ่งในเมืองบรินดีซี ทางตอนใต้ของประเทศอิตาลี เป็นเหตุให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 1 คน ได้รับบาดเจ็บอย่างน้อย 6 คน โดยในจำนวนนี้มีอยู่ 2 รายที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัส ขณะเดียวกัน เกิดระเบิดใกล้กับสำนักงานของหน่วยข่าวกรองทางทหารที่เมืองเดียร์ อัล ซอร์ ทางภาคตะวันออกของซีเรีย ยังไม่ทราบความเสียหายที่ชัดเจน...

พบสัตว์ประหลาดคล้ายปูผสมกุ้งและกั้งโผล่ที่ระนอง

ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่าเมื่อเวลา 09.00 น.วันที่ 17 พ.ค. 2555 ได้รับแจ้งจากชาวบ้านในตลาดระนองว่ามีชาวประมงพื้นบ้านนำสัตว์รูปร่างหน้าตาประหลาดคล้ายสัตว์ 3 ชนิดรวมกันประกอบด้วยกั้ง กุ้ง และปูวางจำหน่ายอยู่ในแผงขายอาหารสดสร้างความสนใจให้กับพ่อค้าแม่ค้า และชาวบ้านในตลาดเป็นจำนวนมาก เมื่อเดินทางไปตรวจสอบยังที่รับแจ้งพบว่าชาวบ้านกำลังมุงดูสัตว์รูปร่างหน้าตาประหลาด ลำตัว และขาคล้ายปูสีแดง แต่เมื่อพิจาณาที่ส่วนหัวจะมีหนวดและรูปร่างคล้ายกับกุ้ง ส่วนลำตัวจะเหมือนกับกั้ง

นางปราณี วิชัย แม่ค้าเจ้าของสัตว์รูปร่างประหลาดดังกล่าว เปิดเผยว่า ตนรับซื้อเจ้าตัวหอบ ซึ่งเป็นชื่อเรียกตามภาษาชาวบ้านมาจากชาวประมงพื้นบ้านที่ ต.หงาวซึ่งจับได้ในราคาตัวละ 200 บาท เพื่อนำมาจำหน่ายให้กับลูกค้าที่เป็นโรคหอบหืด ซึ่งเป็นความเชื่อพื้นบ้านว่าหากนำสัตว์ดังกล่าวมารัปประทานร่วมกับน้ำผึ้งป่าจะสามารรักษาโรคหอบหืดได้ ส่วนตัวหอบนั้นจะเป็นสัตว์หายากมาก อาศัยอยู่ในรูลึกในป่าโกงกาง มักจะไม่ค่อยออกมาปรากฏตัวให้เห็น ซึ่งในชีวิตของตนค้าขายมากว่า 40 ปี เพิ่งเห็นสัตว์ชนิดนี้เพียง 2 ครั้ง ครั้งแรกเมื่อหลังปี 2548 ช่วงหลังที่มีเหตุการณ์สึนามิ ซึ่งมีชาวประมงพื้นบ้านจับได้เช่นกัน ครั้งนี้เห็นเป็นครั้งที่สอง

May 20, 2012 – ITALY - A strong earthquake struck northern Italy early Sunday, leaving at least seven people dead, authorities said. Two people were killed in a ceramic factory in Sant’Agostino di Ferrara, and one person died when a work shed collapsed in Ponte Rodoni di Bondeno, said Elisabetta Maffani, spokeswoman for Italy’s civil protection agency. In addition, a woman in Bologna died of a heart attack during an evacuation; a Moroccan national died when the factory he was working in collapsed; and a sixth victim was found dead under rubble in Sant’Agostino, Maffani said. The seventh was located under a collapsed house, according to Alessio Bellodi of the civil protection branch in Bologna. At least 50 people were injured. Workers were searching through rubble for survivors in Sant’Agostino. The 6.0-magnitude quake occurred just after 4 a.m. (10 p.m. ET Saturday), 4 kilometers (2.4 miles) outside Camposanto, northwest of Bologna, the U.S. Geological Survey said. In Sant’Agostino, the quake knocked down a church bell. Authorities were still assessing damage in the region, the civil protection office said. The agency said it anticipates reports of more injuries as rescue workers make their way to remote villages in the mountainous area. In January, the same area was struck by a 5.3-magnitude quake. แผ่นดินไหว 6.0 ที่เมืองคัมโปซานโต ประเทศอิตาลี ประชาชนแตกตื่นแห่ออกมาตามท้องถนน เหตุชุลมุนทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 3 คน บาดเจ็บอีก 50 ราย...

สำนักธรณีวิทยาสหรัฐฯ (ยูเอสจีเอส) แจ้งวันที่ 20 พ.ค.ว่า เมื่อเวลาประมาณ 09.03 น.วันเดียวกัน ตามเวลาประเทศไทย เกิดเหตุแผ่นดินไหวรุนแรง 6.0 ริกเตอร์ จุดศูนย์กลางอยู่ค่อนไปทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของเมืองคัมโปซานโต ภาคเหนือประเทศอิตาลี ราว 4 กิโลเมตร และอยู่ลึกลงไปใต้ดินเพียง 5 กิโลเมตร

ต่อมาสำนักข่าวเอเอฟพี รายงานว่า แผ่นดินไหวที่เกิดขึ้นช่วงเช้าวันอาทิตย์ ส่งผลให้ประชาชนแตกตื่น วิ่งออกมาตามท้องถนน หวั่นอาคารบ้านเรือนพังถล่ม โดยเหตุชุลมุนทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิต 3 คน บาดเจ็บอีกอย่างน้อย 50 ราย

ถัดมาราว 20 นาที เกิดอาฟเตอร์ช็อก ขนาด 4.1 ริกเตอร์ แรงสั่นสะเทือนรับรู้ได้ที่แคว้นลอมบาร์ดี รอบเมืองมิลาน ศูนย์กลางการค้าและธุรกิจของอิตาลี นอกจากนี้ความรุนแรงของแผ่นดินไหวยังทำให้ยอดของหอระฆังโบสถ์ ในเมืองซานตูอาริโอได้รับความเสียหาย รวมถึงสิ่งก่อสร้างขนาดใหญ่ที่โรงงานในเมืองบูรานา ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ระหว่างเมืองโมเดนาและเฟอร์รารา ล้มพังเช่นกัน.

เกิดเหตุระเบิดในอุโมงค์ทางหลวง ซึ่งอยู่ระหว่างการก่อสร้าง ทางภาคกลางของจีน ทำให้คนงานเสียชีวิต 20 คน เจ็บอีก 1 ราย...

สำนักข่าวต่างประเทศรายงานเมื่อ 20 พ.ค.ว่า เกิดเหตุระเบิดในอุโมงค์ทางหลวง ที่กำลังอยู่ระหว่างการก่อสร้าง เพื่อเชื่อมระหว่างเมืองหยานหลิง และหรูเชง ในมณฑลหูหนาน ภาคกลางของประเทศจีน เป็นเหตุให้คนงานเสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 20 คน บาดเจ็บ 1 คน

ด้านซินหัว สื่อท้องถิ่น เปิดเผยว่า เหตุเกิดขึ้นเมื่อวันเสาร์ (19 พ.ค.) ระหว่างการขนถ่ายวัตถุไวไฟจากรถบรรทุก ส่วนผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บถูกนำตัวส่งโรงพยาบาลแล้ว

อนึ่ง อุบัติเหตุต่างๆ และระเบิด เกิดขึ้นบ่อยครั้งในประเทศจีน สืบเนื่องจากบกพร่องด้านมาตรฐานความปลอดภัย โดยเมื่อ พ.ย.ปีกลาย เกิดเหตุระเบิดที่ลานจอดรถและโกดังอาหาร ทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของประเทศ ทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 7 คน บาดเจ็บกว่า 200 ราย.
